From high brow to low rent, this 8-block luxury bohemian enclave does much to entice you with savvy stores and tasty outside eateries. It is a place to see and be seen without the shi shi feel of NYC’s 5th avenue. The best way to experience this shabby chic bliss is to start on Newbury St. at the SW corner of the Public Garden (Albright St + Newbury St).

Cross the street and you are whisked into another world completely unresembling your neighborhood mall. Burberry and Valentino quickly smack you in the face and say, ” Yes, I know we are fabulous and I highly doubt you can afford anything in here, so please step to the side and let our valued customers through.” In reality, most of the frou frou shops are appointment only and can only be accessed with a secret handshake.
