White Night, Black Sand: Vik, Iceland

Vik, Iceland is a small unassuming seaside town of 300 people on the southern coast of Iceland. It’s main claim to fame are it’s black sand beaches and amazing bird colonies. It’s a strong 3.5 hour drive from Reykjavik along Highway 1 but well worth the toil.

BE CAMERA READY!! All cars entering Vik from Reykjavik enter from above the ocean and the descent is breathtaking. Take in the lone church up on the hillside surrounded by the treasured blue Lupins and the rainbow colored dwellings.
