La Vie en Starbucks (Paris)

Well, it’s true. Paris has been seduced. One of the last bastions of Anti-Americanism has fallen victim to 3.50 euro coffee beverage (No news whether Italy has suffered the same fate).  Yes, the coffee behemoth has found the almighty Paris and it’s been love at first sight. For the bargain price of $5 you can order a  (tall, grande is $6) piece of home or if you are French, une piece d’Amerique.

Tall Skinny Cappucino anyone?

But spotting these stores has proven allusive for this former Starbucks employee (2000-2002).Usually the Emerald Mermaid juts out into the sky like the Bat signal luring the tired or just plain thirsty into its store with the aromatic smell of just pure heaven. I have walked and scoured almost all of this splendid city and have yet to spot one in the wild(my local friend directed me to the first one).  I also hear there is one on the Champs Elysees. Whatever they are, these cafe americans exist and when you just get a craving for a grande pumpkin spiced latte or a tall caramel macchiato, maybe your internal Starbucks map will simply lead you there.

Bonne boisson!

SIDE NOTE: The Starbucks in the Brussels airport actually turned away its customers yesterday (11.28.09) because they were in fact out of coffee, how tres un-americane!
