How could one go to a French speaking country and not be in France? Well, it’s called Belgium. But who simply goes just to Belgium? Not this gal. I am sneaking in 3.5 days in the oui, oui, anything and usually does go city.
I paid 24 euro for the Thalys (think TGV) and 85 minutes later I am in a brand new world (Huxley reference intended). Walking around Brussels is kinda, sorta, but not really like Paris, but more on that in a future post.
Not jet lagged yet (it’s 630pm as I write this) and sitting in my palatial suite at the Hotel Mayet. Well not really palatial, more like a NYC studio but at $150+ a night what more do you want in Paris…and this petite fille ain’t huffing it to the burbs for the sake of cheapness nor is she ‘hosteling it’ (been there, done that).
I realized I left my camera cable at home so wont be able to upload proper pics of these great French twin cities, well not identical twins, maybe fraternal and Ill let you guess which one gets all the dates on Saturday night. But technology has struck gold in that I can upload my iphone pics…so check out my hotel at night (ohhh, how romantic!!)

View from my 3rd floor window, it's very french

Who needs an Eiffel Tower view when I get this?
Stay tuned for more updates, I have crazy adventures and perspectives to share with you all and only 8 days in which to soak it all in…adieu my reading public!

Europe’s train system is so much better than America. I wish Amtrak would get it together.
