Here is the incredibly true but yet not really true adventure of my friend Scott and his fictional rock star alter-ego Lennon.

Having spent a good deal of time in Russia and the other former Soviet states I knew I had fans worldwide. What I didn’t know was how far the reach really went.
Heading to Laos for the first time I decided to make a grand entrance like only a rock star of my caliber can. Along with my manager and PR lady we chartered a hot air balloon and decided to rock Laos. Floating into the country it became obvious that word must have spread because people where coming out of their houses waving and chanting my name. Motorbikes were pulled over to the side of the road, buses were emptied and everyone was watching Lennon descend onto Laos.
With our hired local guide finally finding a spot to land where we felt we could escape the madness we sat down next to the Mekong River. Unfortunately for us hot air balloons do not allow for the quick entrances and exits that I have been used to with my private jets in the past.
From every direction we could see people from the local village and all of the surrounding villages rushed the balloon. With Laos children everywhere I felt that incredible burden that only us Rockstars understand and was obliged to put on a show.
Without any instruments I knew I would never be able to fully satisfy the craving for a concert that my fans possessed so I did the next best thing. I signed autographs, taught the children to high five and even went for a swim down the rushing current of the Mekong with the braver soles.
Within minutes our local tour bus was there to pick us up and whisk us away but I would have nothing of it. I understand with great fame comes great responsibility. I stayed for at least one hour giving the locals a story they were not soon to forget.
At one point a local elder pulled a guitar from nowhere and wanted me to play. Knowing that I would only upstage him to where he could never play in the village again I declined but instead encouraged him to play. Of course I did bless the crowd with my incredible vocals.
I must say I was surprised to see that he was only able to play about a dozen of my songs. I assumed that everyone, especially my fans, had taken the time to memorize all of my songs. It was very humbling.
